Deebert House is only 15 minutes away from Ireland’s largest trail network, 98km of forest road, tightly twisted single track with loads of ups and downs, bound walls, tight tunnels and technical rocky hills, guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face.

Walking

Ballyhoura Country offers the visitor a wide variety of walking experiences. There are nine looped walks varying in distance and difficulty. All are mapped and are available to download. The Ballyhoura Way is part of the Beara-Breifne Way and stretches 90km from St.Johns Bridge in Cork to Limerick Junction in Co. Tipperary.

Cycling Hub

Kilmallock is part of the National Cycling Network. The hub offers four cycling tours through quiet country roads and charming historical villages and towns. Each loop varies in distance and difficulty on you level of fitness.

Lough Gur

An archaeological gem only 10 minutes from Deebert House, Lough Gurs history can be traced back over 8,000 years. Surrounded by rugged hills, Lough Gur enchants with its beauty, stone circles, ancient habitation sites, megalith tombs, Crannogs and castles. Describing its colourful history on the banks of the lake can be found a refurbished heritage centre with pathways leading to its mysterious past.

Medieval Kilmallock

At the crossroads of Munster, Kilmallock, on the southern borders of Limerick, was one of the most prominent towns in Munster. An important Norman town, it was at the centre of Ireland’s political developments from the 13th to the 16th century. History that is evident through the rich architectural heritage that is its national monuments including Kings Castle, Blossom Gate, Collegiate Church, The Stone Mansion, Famine Memorial Park and the Dominican Abbey.
